Our Communities
The Horn Dispatch (THD) - Community Portals
The Horn Dispatch Community Portals are private online spaces created to bring immigrant and refugee communities together.
Each community has its own portal where members can stay informed, celebrate their culture, learn about civic life in the United States, and share information that matters to their community.
Our goal is to build these portals over time with the help of community ambassadors, volunteers, professionals, elders, students, and community members. As each community grows, so will the resources, conversations, and opportunities available within its portal.
Membership is currently free.
Why Join?
Joining a Community Portal gives you an opportunity to be part of something that is being built for—and with—your community.
Rather than relying on scattered social media posts or word of mouth, each portal is designed to become a trusted place where community members can find reliable information, stay connected, and contribute their own knowledge and experiences.
Whether you are a newly arrived refugee, a parent, a student, a working professional, or a community elder, there is a place for you.
What We're Building Together
Each Community Portal is a work in progress. Some sections are already available, while others will be added as our communities grow and more people contribute.
Over time, members can expect to find resources such as:
Weekly community briefings
Community announcements
Interviews with community members
Articles about history, language, and culture
Civic and immigration education
Community documents and downloadable resources
Videos and event coverage
Volunteer and leadership opportunities
Youth and professional development resources
Each community will grow at its own pace, and the content available will continue to expand over time.
